Blaire has extensive experience in federal and state court in a wide range of cases. She represents clients in complex federal matters including conspiracy, mortgage fraud, health care fraud, bank fraud, mail/wire fraud, and public corruption. She has successfully obtained acquittals for clients charged with Federal Criminal Offenses ranging from Bank Robbery, Possession of a Weapon by a Felon, and Conspiracy to Possess and Distribute >10 kilograms of cocaine. 

In addition to her federal practice, Blaire also regularly defends clients in state court cases ranging from traffic matters to First-Degree Murder. She has helped win numerous acquittals including for clients charged with murder, home invasion, sexual assault, obstruction of justice, perjury, fraud, possession of a stolen motor vehicle, domestic battery, failure to register, DUI, and various narcotics and weapons offenses. She also represents Plaintiffs’ civil rights in various excessive force and false arrest claims brought against the Chicago Police Department.

Blaire Dalton, recognized as one of America’s Top 40 Under 40 criminal defense lawyers by the National Trial Lawyers association, continues to provide clients with excellent representation in complex state and federal criminal litigation. For the seventh year in a row, Blaire is a 2021 Super Lawyers’ Rising Star in the practice area of criminal defense. This high honor is based on peer review and is given to only 2.5% of the lawyers in Illinois. From 2017-2021, Blaire was also named one of the Leading Lawyers’ Emerging Lawyers in the practice area of criminal defense and white collar criminal defense. Since 2019, Blaire has proudly served as the treasurer for the Women's Criminal Defense Bar Association. 

Blaire graduated from DePaul University College of Law in 2011 with a certificate in Criminal Law. There she was inducted into the Order of the Barristers (highest honors) and was a successful member of the National Mock Trial Team. While in law school, Blaire worked for the Cook County Public Defender’s Office and clerked for the legendary Edward Genson. Blaire joined Genson & Gillespie in 2011 to practice full-time with her mentor, Ed Genson.

Blaire received her B.S. in Criminal Justice and Legal Studies from Indiana University. During that time, she also clerked for one of Chicago’s largest law firms, Katten Muchin. Before beginning law school, Blaire spent a year working for and learning from another one of Chicago’s most renowned criminal defense attorney’s, Michael Monico.
